High Efficiency Motors - IE2
The New IS: 12615 is based on the International Standard IEC 60034-30 (2008) which defines New Efficiency Classification for single speed, three phase, induction motors.
The new IS: 12615 covers single speed, three-phase, 50Hz, cage induction motors that:
have rated voltage ≤1000V;
have a rated output 0.37kW ≤ PN ≤ 375kW;
have either 2, 4 or 6 poles;
meet frame size to output relation as stipulated in IS: 1231 (for outputs covered by IS:1231);
are rated on the basis of either duty type S1 (continuous duty) or S3 (intermittent periodic duty) with rated cyclic duration factor of 80% or higher;
are capable of operating direct on-line;
are designed for operation on virtually sinusoidal and balanced voltage conditions as defined in 7.2.1 of IS/IEC 60034-1;
designed for an ambient temperature not exceeding 40°C and altitude not exceeding 1000m;
have degree of protection IP44 or superior;
have method of cooling IC411 in accordance with IS 6362 / IEC 60034-6;
have service factor not exceeding 1.0.
The Efficiency classes defined are:
IE1 – Standard Efficiency
IE2 – High Efficiency
IE3 – Premium Efficiency
The New IS:12615 also stipulates that for motors to be classified as “Energy Efficient”, these must meet at least IE2
efficiency values.

Dual Speed Motors
Siemens offers dual speed motors under their series 1LA0
The dual speeds include 4/2 pole ranging from 12 kw to 100 kw and 8/4 pole ranging from 5.5 kw to 78 kw.
These squirrel cage Induction motors confirming to IS: 325 are offered in Cast Iron housing with IP 55 protection and with IC411 cooling. These motors are suitable for 415 V + 6%, 50Hz + 3% and an Ambient of 40°C.

Textile Motors

1LA8 / 1PQ8 N Compact
Higher output from the same frame size; this is the concept of the new 1LA8 series motors
introduced in India by SIEMENS after achieving a great success in Europe. These state-of-the-art
generation of motors have outputs as much as 60% higher than 1SE0 motors for the same frame size. Compactness and high efficiency are the special features of the new 1LA8 / 1PQ8 Series Motors.
All the motors upto 630 kW are suitable for 415V supply. Ratings beyond 710 kW are suitable for 690V supply. Frequency in both the cases is 50 Hz.
The motors are suitable for continuous operation at the rated outputs, for the voltage and
frequency conditions at an ambient of 40°C.
The motors can be offered in IMB3, IMV1 and IMB35 construction as per IS:2253.
Winding wires with dual coat enamel with temperature class 200 are used. These wires have superior electrical, mechanical and thermal properties.
1LA8 motors are provided with a very efficient cooling system. This system combines the advantages of the cooling systems of conventional TEFC motors and conventional CACA motors, while retaining the simplicity of the TEFC motors in construction.
The N-Compact series of motors upto 630kW are suitable for 415V supply. Ratings beyond 710kW are suitable for 690V supply.

1PQO Converter Duty Motor
The Converter Duty motors for Constant Torque applications are offered from 11kW to 315kW in 2, 4, 6 & 8Pole with TEFC Enclosure – IC416 separately cooled. The Reference Standard for these motors is IS: 325 / IEC: 60034-1.
The 1PQ0 Series motors are offered for an Ambient of 50°C, for Altitude < 1000m, with Class F insulation. These motors are provided with dual coat copper wires which has superior electrical, mechanical and thermal properties.
